Locumr ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your personal data and respecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use the Locumr mobile application ("App") in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

1. Information We Collect
When you use Locumr, we collect the following categories of personal data:

a. Account Information

Name and email address (via Google, Apple, or email login)
Job role (pharmacist, technician, or dispenser), used to tailor the app and to produce role-specific Rate Insights statistics (see Section 4)
Authentication data managed securely via Firebase Authentication

b. Shift and Expense Data

Details of work shifts (e.g., dates, hours, general location, rates)
Expense records (e.g., accommodation, purchases, receipts)

c. Financial and Tax Data
Income estimates, hourly rates, and expense totals used for invoice generation and tax estimation

d. Technical Data
Device type, operating system, app version, and basic usage analytics

2. Lawful Basis for Processing
Under UK GDPR, we rely on the following lawful bases:

Contractual necessity (Article 6(1)(b)):
To provide core app functionality such as shift tracking, invoicing, and tax estimation

Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)):
To improve the app, ensure security, develop features, and produce aggregated Rate Insights statistics
(we ensure this does not override your rights and freedoms)

Consent (Article 6(1)(a)):
For optional communications (e.g., updates, marketing emails), where you have explicitly opted in

Legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)):
Where processing is required to comply with applicable laws

3. How We Use Your Information
We use your personal data to:

Provide and maintain the Locumr app
Store and manage your shift and expense records
Generate invoices and tax estimates
Authenticate users securely
Improve performance, features, and user experience
Produce aggregated statistical information (e.g., averages, ranges, and trends) displayed within the app as Rates Insights (see Section 4)
Allow Premium users to compare their own shifts with those aggregated statistics
Communicate with you where you have consented

4. Aggregated Statistics (Rate Insights)

We use shift data from users of the app (such as rates, hours, job role, general location, and date) to produce aggregated statistics, such as averages, ranges, and trends, which are displayed within the app.
Statistics may be broken down by job role, region, and month
We publish only aggregated figures. Individual shifts and individual rates are never published
A statistic is displayed only where it is based on a minimum number of shifts and a minimum number of different users, so that individuals cannot reasonably be identified from the published figures
To calculate these statistics, shift records are processed in our secure cloud environment by our service providers (see Section 5) before being aggregated. The underlying records are not shared with other users
You may object to this processing at any time (see Section 8)
Personal rate comparison (Premium)
Premium users can compare their own logged shifts against the published Rate Insights figures. This comparison is carried out on your device, using your own records and the published aggregate figures. Your individual rate is not uploaded as part of this comparison.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data.
We may share your data only:
With trusted service providers acting as data processors under contract, including Google Firebase (authentication, database, and storage) and Google Cloud services (such as BigQuery and Cloud Functions), which compute the aggregated Rate Insights statistics from exported app data
Where required by law or regulatory obligation
With your explicit consent
All third-party processors are required to process data in accordance with UK GDPR.

6. International Data Transfers

Some of our service providers (e.g., Google Firebase and Google Cloud) may process data outside the UK.
Where this occurs, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as:
UK-approved Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs)
Adequacy regulations where applicable

7. Data Retention
We retain your personal data:

For as long as your account is active
As necessary to provide services and comply with legal obligations
You may request deletion of your data at any time. When your account is deleted, your personal data is deleted, including copies held for calculating Rate Insights. Aggregated statistics already calculated do not identify you and may be retained.

8. Your Rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

Access your personal data
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request erasure of your data ("right to be forgotten")
Restrict or object to processing, including the use of your shift data in Rate Insights
Data portability
Withdraw consent at any time (where applicable)

9. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including:

Secure cloud storage and processing (Google Firebase and Google Cloud)
Encryption in transit
Access controls and authentication safeguards

10. Children's Privacy
Locumr is not intended for individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Significant changes will be communicated via the app or email.

Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
